The imperially-rooted state education system in the UK was built with a focus on crystallised intelligence, however today’s world requires a shift in the approach. The futurist Jamias Cascio has dubbed the next stage of human thinking as fluid intelligence - the ability to navigate in the age of constant connectivity.
Fluid Learning is a format of learning I have developed which introduces a contrast to the current exam-oriented model, presenting today’s digital natives with an opportunity to direct their own learning in a school environment. It is a step towards the future of the educator-learner relationship.
I am facilitating the pilot series of sessions at Barham Primary School in Wembley, northwest London.
